In Thailand, there is a festival called the “festival of lights” where individuals take lanterns and light them, then release them into the night sky. The concept of my design was the “festival of lights”. To incorporate this, I added recessed and pendant lighting on the ceiling, walls and incorporated the "festival of lights" into the lamps as well.

As you walk into the hotel lobby you will instantly walk into a space that is full of peace and serenity. The columns throughout the space are painted to resemble the common dragon found in the culture in Thailand. Greeting you is a small pond that you can sit around and relax. As you walk further into the space, you will find a meditation area that you can take a moment and have a moment of peace. To the right of the meditation area, you have the reception desk that has a curved waterfall wall behind it.
