For this assignment, we were assigned to make a reception area of our choice. The space was required to have a mezzanine and a staircase, a reception desk, and a curved element. I chose to design a relaxation room within a hospital lobby. No one ever wants to go to a hospital. Hospitals are a source of trying times for a lot of people. So I decided to create an area that would allow people to come, relax, gather their thoughts, and take some time for themselves. There are multiple seating areas for people to gather and relax in different ways.

You can see the reception desk that has magazines and books you can check out as well as a tv that will be playing quietly in the background. There is an area to get some coffee and the door to the rest of the hospital. There are little rooms that you can sit in and get some privacy from the rest of the space. There is a little table and chair that you can set your coffee down on and just reflect on your thoughts.
